Hurtigruten Celebrates 131st Anniversary with Birthday Sale, Saving Guests Up to 50% on Norway Coastal Cruises*

Hurtigruten , the undisputed travel expert on Norway and its stunning coastline, is celebrating 131 years of sailing the renowned Norwegian coastline by running a *North American Birthday Sale between June 25 and July 16, 2024.

Since July 2, 1893, Hurtigruten has sailed almost the exact same 34 ports as its Original Coastal Express Voyages does today, making it one of the world’s most unique itineraries. Last year, the cruise line launched the Svalbard Line and the North Cape Line, an elevated cruise experience with longer day stops, highlighting the very best of the best of Norway’s coastal towns and experiences. The newer itineraries are part of Hurtigruten’s Signature Voyages, a more premium experience including all-inclusive food and drinks, enhanced onboard experiences, and in-depth lecture series onboard by the Coastal Experience Team.

To celebrate 131 years of operations, Hurtigruten is offering up to 50% off Original Coastal Express Voyages and up to 35% off Signature Voyages for departures during the 2024/25 season. In addition, guests will save up to 15% and receive up to 5,000 Norwegian kroner (NOK, roughly $450) when booking departures for the 2025/26 season.

Experience the essence of Norwegian culture.

The unique Original Coastal Express Voyages have remained the very same for most of the 131 years since Hurtigruten conceived the itinerary up and down the Norwegian coast on July 2, 1893. The route, from Bergen to Kirkenes and back, takes in 34 enchanting coastal communities set amongst world-famous fjords, on idyllic islands and tucked under towering mountains. These itineraries have been the lifeblood of the coastal communities since that first day, making Hurtigruten an authentic Norwegian travel experience.

Hurtigruten’s Signature Voyages are the venerable cruise line’s newest category, a premium experience created to significantly elevate the Norway cruising experience and redefine small-ship sailing.

• The Svalbard Line sails in the summer and lets passengers relive the adventures of the early explorers by travelling up the Norway coastline to the Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic Ocean.

• The North Cape Line in the winter sends you high into the northern landscape to view the magical Northern Lights.

Driven by customer feedback and recalling the golden age of ocean liners, these newer voyages allow guests to Live the Legend of Norway, digging into the nation’s heritage, gastronomy, and breathtaking vistas like never before.

Earlier this year, Hurtigruten introduced Tom Kerss as the world’s first Chief Aurora Chaser and extended Northern Lights Promise for the 2024/25 season and beyond. The Northern Lights Promise reaffirms Hurtigruten's dedication to providing unparalleled opportunities for guests to witness the mesmerizing spectacle of the Northern Lights. This unique guarantee assures guests that if the Northern Lights did not make an appearance during their voyage, they would receive a complimentary six- or seven-day voyage to try again the following season.
